Michael W. Phelan

Michael W. Phelan has a PhD in cultural anthropology coupled with management experience at a Fortune 500 corporation. He has coached business executives in developing their personality strengths and in developing culturally relevant presentations for China and Japan.

Michael did his Ph.D. fieldwork and dissertation on relationships between business-to-business buyers and sellers in Taiwan and Japan.

He has more than ten years experience in human relations and communications for organizations, including the Foreign Ministry of Japan and Oracle USA, Inc. He taught Economic Anthropology at Sophia University in Tokyo and workshops on Japanese business culture to MBA candidates and undergraduate students at Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
